The television program "In Real Time" of the Caribbean Channel recently addressed the issue of computerization in the agricultural, forestry and tobacco sector in Cuba.
Engineer Bárbara Giselle Santos Figarola, Principal Development Specialist of the Information Technology and Communications Company of MINAG (EICMA), answered the questions asked by her presenter José Mejías.
The appearance highlighted the role of the entity as leader of the process in the National System of Agriculture and emphasized services offered to the productive bases in the country.
Santos Figarola presented the company's projections towards key lines of the field such as rice, coffee and tobacco. "Some of the lines in which we work are aimed at management systems for the production of tobacco, coffee and rice," said the specialist and added, "these are computer applications that offer solutions to different phases of production processes and facilitate the availability of useful and reliable information ”.
The implementation of the Warehouse Inventory Viewer known as VINA, an application developed and implemented by EICMA in the Agricultural Supply Network of the Logistics Business Group of the Ministry of Agriculture (GELMA), is one of the results exhibited by the entity from its contribution to the control of resources and the possibility of having the information, in real time, about the means and inputs necessary to assume any production in the country.
