The change in thinking that is evident in the logistics processes of the Ministry of Agriculture, which lead to direct work with man and the dignification of facilities, equipment and machinery are the result of the interpretation of documents approved by the VI and VII Party Congresses, and guarantee food production.
This was stated by Clara Toledo Martínez, an official of the Central Committee of the Party, who intervened in the balance sheet of the management of the Logistics Group of the Minag (Gelma) during 2018, developed at the headquarters of the organization; He also acknowledged that there is a greater incorporation of workers to the UJC and the Party, and affirmed that political ideological work is the responsibility of each cadre, of each boss, of each union leader, of each member of a collective.
The balance sheet report states that during 2018, Gelma exceeded net sales by 3% and profits by 8%; none of its companies accumulate losses in the stage or accumulate accounts receivable due. The salary expense by utility weight reached 94%.
The OSDE complies with the limits and management indicators and works with close to 500 million pesos of bank credit. During this stage the group's marketing model was consolidated, the contract is used as a tool for this management, they reconcile monthly with customers and suppliers, and they gradually implement electronic collection.
One of the aspects identified as positive in the management of Gelma is about the reduction of complaints from producers for the lack of inputs, and although there have been difficult situations with the supply of pesticides and fertilizers, actions have been taken to minimize the damage to the crops.
On purchases and imports (Gelma is the wholesale importer of Agriculture) it was known that 78.4% were met; those made in the country were 84.7% and imports 67.4%. They processed 36 collaboration projects and 27 million 800 thousand pesos were executed, 93% of the total value of the same.
Gelma develops a program of attention to the new technologies that enter to the organism that include from the assembly and start-up, technical assistance until the sustainability of the equipment.
The approach of the inputs to the producers is one of the most obvious achievements of Gelma; At present, they have 229 points of sale throughout the country, more than 50 of them located in mountainous areas or difficult to access, which allowed compliance with the sales plan of the wholesale trade.
During 2018, 5 thousand 944 contracts were worked with production units and agricultural companies, thousand 815 more than in the previous stage. Havana, Sancti Spíritus, Ciego de Ávila and Santiago de Cuba report the greatest accomplishments. The most deficient inputs are barbed wire, batteries, electrodes, nails and tires, the execution of sales of pesticides and fertilizers was affected by the lack of them in the country.
The strategic alliance between the Banco Popular de Ahorro and Gelma, was highlighted by the representative of the first, who praised that there is no accommodation on the part of the OSDE to know that they have a favorable situation from the point of view of finance and all the options that provide them in order to satisfy the programs of food production.
Néstor Hernández Martínez, general secretary of the Union of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers, mentioned the credibility that Gelma has gained; when before there were dozens of proposals for lack of resources, during the process of the XXI Congress of the Central Workers there are only 17 that will have a solution at national level, the rest have had in the territories where they have been made.
The Minister of Agriculture, Gustavo Rodríguez Rollero, at the close of the meeting, explained the lines of work of the organization to correspond to the demands of the Cuban President and the Government, which propose the revitalization of science and technology; computerization, communication and automation as classic elements of development.
He indicated that institutional communication is vital to explain what is being done at the national and international levels and for the promotion of results, services and businesses, for which it is necessary to include it in the budgets, urged to take advantage of the benefits of the means of communication to let us know and explain to the people what we are doing.
He said that efficiency must be specified, reflected by indicators in the business plan, which must be adapted to respond to any eventuality, and highlighted the element of integration in the transformation of Gelma's work. Gustavo Rodríguez urged companies in the sector to get involved in development processes. "You have to look for work," he said.
