PINEWOOD OF THE RIVER. - Mechanics of the Agricultural Transport Company of Pinar del Río assume the repair of trucks of the agriculture system for the westernmost provinces of the country.

Edilberto González, director of the entity, explained to Granma that the works include capital, partial or average rehabilitations of Kamaz vehicles, made in Russia, one of the most common brands in the country.

The official said that taking into account the infrastructure of his company, it was decided to repair a total of 58 trucks from different agricultural entities in Vueltabajo, Artemisa, Havana, Mayabeque and Isla de la Juventud.

"We start at the end of October, and according to the schedule we must conclude in the month of March," he said.

Pastor Medina, director of the José Argibay Rivero workshops, where the work is carried out, tells that after receiving the task a selection of the most experienced mechanics, welders and electricians was made, to which a training on the technology was given with which he was going to work.

The executive informed that according to the type of repair that corresponds, the actions range from the change of cabins, the remotorización and the replacement of the main aggregates, to the adjustment of the braking and steering systems.

"In the case of capital repairs, a total disarmament is carried out and most of the components are replaced, including the speed box, the differentials and the front bridge," says Medina.

"Meanwhile, in the average repairs 50% is dismantled, the aggregates are replaced or repaired and a new cab is also placed, while in the current repairs, 30% of the vehicles are disarmed".

In spite of the availability of new parts, it has been necessary to appeal to the creativity of the mechanics and other operators, to carry out the coupling of some components of the current Kamaz, which do not coincide in the position they had in the old models.

In addition to improving the comfort of the equipment, the director of the workshops José Argibay Rivero, said that with the work being done will significantly increase the load capacity of a deteriorated vehicle park.
