The VI Business Fair that takes place in Havana brings together more than 350 exhibitors, interested in taking advantage of this space whose main objective is to publicize all the productive capacities and to replace imports.

Officially opened on Monday 20 at the ExpoCuba fairground with the presence of Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas, the meeting also seeks to identify new exportable items within the domestic economy. During his inaugural session, the first deputy minister of the branch, René Hernández, considered that this is a space for the actors of the economy to promote their offers, know their market, explore new opportunities and identify other potentialities. Thus, I have added, one of the objectives is to facilitate the preparation of the Economy Plan for next year, a period in which the fundamental development programs in the country with an essential weight in the agricultural and manufacturing fields should be ensured. The purpose, I have added, is to reduce the import dependence of final goods and to accompany the dynamism of tourism, foreign investment and trade, favoring the consolidation of the productive links to the interior of the economy. Expected to be held until May 31, 28 different companies, 15 mixed entities, seven non-agricultural cooperatives and three self-employed workers are present, according to sources from the Ministry of Economy and Planning. With regard to this event, the Minister of Economy, Alejandro Gil, ratified the importance of horizontal communication between economic actors. "You have to know each other, know what the needs are and what is needed to fully exploit productive capacities," he said.
